Privacy Policy
Mirrord is made by Smart Bee Designs LLC (“we”). In short: what you mirror stays between your own phones and computers. We never receive it. We do keep the few things needed to sell Mirrord Pro, and, unless you turn them off, anonymous counts of which features get used.
What you mirror
Screens, sound, drawings, screenshots and recordings go directly between your own devices on your local network. They never go through our servers or the internet. The connection is encrypted (TLS). A computer you connect to by scanning its QR code is checked against the key in that code, and one found on your network is remembered, so another device can’t pretend to be it. Screenshots, recordings and projects are saved only in the folder you choose.
To tell computers apart and remember the phones you’ve approved, the apps exchange a random ID for each install, and the device’s name, model and app version. They exchange these only with your own devices.
Controlling a phone or computer
If you allow it, the computer showing a phone or another computer can control it. Mirrord for Android does this through Android’s Accessibility service, which you turn on yourself. It performs only the taps, swipes, scrolling and typing you make on the computer, and reads only the text field you’re typing into. It doesn’t collect, store or send anything it can see, and does nothing unless you’re mirroring with control on.
Anonymous usage statistics (desktop app)
To learn what to improve, the desktop app sends counts once a day, such as:
- how many times features like recording, drawing tools or overlays were used
- the largest number of screens shown at once
- the app version and operating system
The counts are added straight into daily totals. They carry no account, name, device ID, IP address or anything you mirrored, so they can’t be traced back to you. You can turn them off at any time in Settings → Usage statistics, and then nothing is sent. Mirrord for Android sends no statistics.
Our website
www.mirrord-app.com counts page views and download clicks without cookies. Only the page or button is counted, not who you are. It doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and doesn’t use Google Analytics.
Your account and Mirrord Pro
If you buy Mirrord Pro, you sign in with Google or an email link. We keep, on Google Firebase:
- your email address and account ID
- when you bought Pro, and the Stripe payment reference
- the computers you’ve activated Pro on: their name, operating system, a random ID, and when they last checked in
Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Activated computers check in from time to time to confirm Pro is still active, which sends only that computer’s license and ID. We use these details only to provide Pro and support. We don’t sell or share them, apart from with Stripe and Google, who process them for us.
To have your account and its data deleted, write to contact@mirrord-app.com.
Updates
The desktop app checks for updates by contacting GitHub, which hosts Mirrord’s releases, and GitHub’s own privacy policy applies to that. If you ask it to install a tool it needs (such as the AirPlay receiver), it uses your computer’s own package manager.
Children
Mirrord isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
